Default Question to monks hexed in PvP

SO... how do YOU handle being bombarded with hexes in PvP without dying in seconds?

Some all out assults I can actually handle, but I am not sure if I am handling a barage of mesmer hexes, as I seem to have issues staying alive when hexes are on me.

Is there a trick I am missing? maybe a better skill than the SLOW casting remove hex?

Thanks in advance.

What kind of hexes are you talking about? Most mesmer hexes are geared to shutdown other casters, not to kill them. The best way to avoid this? Tell your group to kill the enemy mesmer first or have your own mesmer in your team to shutdown the enemy monks/mesmer.

You can try to use spell breaker, or if you are a mo/me, you can try to use hex breaker (mesmer spell) before you start the battle and refresh it whenever it nullified the hex on you.

I play my me/w in the random arena alot and I always go for monks,I use Illusionary weapon, backfire, blackout,if I have enough energy Imagined burden. I never played monk but smite hex might help you. Teamwork is important, call assist, god knows how many crappy partys I've had where I'm the only one attacking the monk. btw if you have backfire on you don't cast unless you really need to,it only lasts 10secs.

I'm an Anti-Caster Mesmer too and this happens all the time in PvP. It amazes me how many people refuse to listen and attack one called target at a time lol.

Going for the monk isnt always the best option. Most monks hold their own lives in much higer regard than anyone elses, and so work just that little bit harder to keep themselves alive(in random pvp and pug tombs that is). Sometimes its good to go for any one of the following: el, me, ne.
They have awful armour and self-healing and are often the ones doing all the damage/screwing your team up.

The monk is often the best target for a mesmer, since proper energy denial and shutdown will distract the monk as well as any nearby monks. Most monks watch out for each other and try to keep each other alive since the team often depends on them, so you're effectively diverting the monks' attention from the rest of the team.

There's nothing you can personally do when you get hex-stacked. The best option available is make sure you have a caster support character carrying convert hexes on your team. The recharge on the commonly stacked hexes is such that you can time a convert so that it takes out all of those hexes as soon as they appear.

If you're playing with a PuG, there's little you can do (without sacrificing effectiveness) besides go and cry in a corner.

If you're playing organized PvP, you should always have a lot of hex removal on the team. Generally speaking, when my guild goes into Tombs, we carry 2 converts, and 3-4 smite hex/inspired hex. The general rule is that if you're getting stacked, call for a convert, if it's just one, even backfire, simply inspire/smite yourself, since taking ~120 damage is far easier than calling for another smite, and always faster. At the same time, a lot of those mesmer hexes are probably stupid. There are really only a few to look out for. Just keep your eyes open for panic, an AoE energy denial spell is annoying to remove, since there are numerous AoE hexes, and no AoE removal right now.
